Health Affairs
The APAMSA Health Affairs Branch is dedicated to eliminating health care disparities in the AANHPI community.
As a nationwide community of APAMSA chapters, we are working together to eliminate Hepatitis B and increase AANHPI bone marrow donors. New projects are in development as well to address the ever-changing needs of our community.

Bone Marrow Registration
The goal of APAMSA’s National Bone Marrow Registration Initiative is to increase the representation of minority groups, especially AANHPI, in the national registry in the effort to offer a cure to thousands suffering from diseases treatable with stem cell transplant.

National Cancer Initiative
The mission of the APAMSA Cancer Initiative is to increase awareness of cancer in Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and other Pacific Islanders (AANHPI) communities through promoting cancer screenings and education.

Mental Health Initiative
The Mental Health Branch of APAMSA is devoted to promoting mental health, particularly for AANHPI individuals, through advocacy, improved awareness, storytelling, and resource sharing. What we desire most is for members of AANHPI communities, and all people, to be able to live well.

Community Outreach Initiative
National APAMSA is committed to addressing health inequities in Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) community health, as well as increasing AANHPI representation in healthcare research. As such, community outreach grant funding is available to all APAMSA chapters through our partnership with the Asian Research Coalition and the All of Us Research Program. Outreach activities can include, but are not limited to: health screenings, health fairs, flu shot clinics, and supply donations to community centers.
