Region III Social!
The APAMSA Region 3 schools in Philadelphia hosted a social at Independence Beer Garden and there was really great turnout! We grabbed dinner at Nan Zhou Hand Drawn Noodle House afterwards and took a picture together to commemorate the occasion. We had medical students from Sidney Kimmel Medical College, Drexel, Temple, PCOM, and Penn State School of Medicine come to mix and mingle with each other.
We hope that all schools from Region 3 (Mid-Atlantic Region) will be able to join us for our Regional Conference on October 15th!

ERAS Personal Statement Review
Attention M4s! If you are interested in having your personal statement reviewed by APAMSA alumni–residents and fellows who have recently gone through the residency application process–please fill out this form: https://forms.gle/ituvJErayvjpUfW39 We have a group of young alumni from different specialties who have graciously volunteered their time. While we will try to match you with alumni in your specialty, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to, and while we would love to offer this to all who sign up, we cannot guarantee we will have enough volunteers for all personal statements.
Best, APAMSA Alumni Directors
To all APAMSA alumni: As ERAS looms above this year’s M4s, we wanted to reach out and ask if you would be willing to support them by participating in a Personal Statement Review program–and pay it forward if you received feedback in 2020.
Even reviewing a single personal statement would be much appreciated, and if you are interested, please fill out this form, and we will follow-up with more information: https://forms.gle/sZptPtRaToAjekmr9

Hi APAMSA,
We are in the final month of the Be The Match x APAMSA Interchapter Competition! The competition will be coming to an end on September 1st, at which point registrations will close. However, registrants can continue returning their kits for up to a month before we officially decide our winner. As a reminder, the top 14 schools with the highest number of registrants will receive a Visa Gift Card as a prize. It’s not too late to boost your numbers or get your chapter in the running, so see below for things you can do!
1. Host a Bone Marrow Drive to kick off the start of the school year and register incoming M1s! Reach out to your Be The Match representative to get started and apply for the Bone Marrow Grant ($150) for additional funding.
2. Join the Summer Swab Your Circle Campaign by requesting a swab kit and start swabbing your friends/family. It’s an easy way to get more individuals registered for the National Bone Marrow Registry. Don’t forget to mention your APAMSA chapter when requesting your kit!
3. Continue reaching out and reminding registrants to return their kits!
