A message from the Region 3 Regional Directors about the Region III Conference:
The Asian Pacific American Medical Student Association (APAMSA), UMSOM APAMSA Chapter, and JHUSOM APAMSA Chapter cordially invite you to the 2018 Region III Conference held this year at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, MD.
Our theme for this year’s conference is “Medicine in Motion: Promoting Progress in APIA Communities." As future healthcare providers, we hold a special responsibility to care for the health of our patients and advocate for the communities in which they live. Through our conference, we hope to provide an integrative educational experience for students on diverse issues affecting minority communities and how we can use a medical perspective to acknowledge and address them.
A special thanks to the amazing group of speakers that have taken the time to attend our conference. It is our privilege to hear these leaders from the medical profession, public health services, and APIA community, share their wisdom with us today. They will cover a wide variety of topics, all of which are relevant to local APIA communities and patients. It is our hope that the information presented will help you engage patients in your future careers and practice the best medicine possible for the betterment of the community.
Lastly, this conference is open to everyone! APAMSA is an inclusive organization, so we encourage anyone and everyone to attend. Whether you are a medical, public health, pharmacy, dental or pre-health student, an APAMSA member, a member of the community, etc.--WELCOME! We can’t wait for you to join us in discussing key topics in the APIA community and to network with people from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. Thank you for your interest, we look forward to seeing you on January 20!
