Advocacy
The APAMSA Advocacy Branch is committed in engaging health professional students in issues that affect our communities.
As the Advocacy Branch of the only national organization representing Asian Pacific American medical students, we seek to amplify the voices of minority communities. We provide chapters with the resources, opportunities, and networks to translate the principles of health equity and social justice into political action.
The Advocacy Branch also provides Official APAMSA Toolkits which contain comprehensive resources and action initiatives that local APAMSA chapters can adapt, implement, and utilize to support their students and each other, as well as bring AANHPI causes to the larger school community. An example of an Advocacy toolkit is the Anti-Racism Toolkit, which can be found at apamsa.org/toolkits.

Health Policy
We work to raise awareness of health disparities, facilitate participation in advocacy at the medical student level, provide a space to discuss problems of inequity in healthcare, as well as support policies, and organize resources that broaden access to care for our communities.
AANHPI Advocacy
The Asian American, Native Hawaiian, & Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Advocacy division’s mission is to help our AANHPI medical students thrive, whether that is advocating with student leaders for medical schools to create a more inclusive training environment or creating spaces for trainees to voice their hopes and concerns.
