Lieutenant Commander Markeece Lamone Murriel, the son of Mr. Willie G. Murriel and Mrs. Debrah A. Murriel, was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He enlisted in the United States Navy on August 20, 1990 and transferred to Naval Hospital Jacksonville, FL in June 1991. In 1996, HM2(FMF) Murriel was selected as U.S. Marine Forces Pacific Senior Sailor of the Year. In 1997, he obtained an Associate of Science degree in Business Management from Hawaii Pacific University and was accepted to Advanced Radiology Technician “C” in San Diego, CA. In 2000, HM1(FMF) Murriel graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Management/Computer Information Systems (Magna Cum Laude) from Park University, Parkville, MO. In October 2013, Lieutenant Commander Murriel reported to Navy Recruiting Command Millington, TN where he currently serves as Deputy Director, Medical Program Accessions.
