On November 18, 2016 Washington University School of Medicine APAMSA celebrated Diwali: A South Asian Cultural Night

WUSM Diwali is primarily a celebration of South Asian culture, during which medical students choreograph and perform a series of artistic performances, with culinary dishes catered from a local South Asian restaurant. This year, we organized a cultural show that included 3 South Asian dance performances from the M1,M2, and M4 classes, a cultural fashion show, and an Indian pop music performance by a medical student band. In addition to an introductory educational component describing the religious and cultural origin and significance of Diwali, the event was an opportunity for medical students to come together to enjoy each other's company and celebrate the good in our lives and in the year to come.
