On Saturday, October 1, 2016 Rush Medical College hosted the 2016 National Conference! The conference, titled Promoting Wellness from Within, took on the special aim to address the importance of mental health in the medical community itself. The goal of the conference was to send participants home with an overarching message - Care for yourself, so that you may best care for your community.

The conference featured topics and activities ranging from Health Policy discussions to Culinary medicine to improvisation lessons and various career opportunity presentations including those by the US Navy. Sessions were led by industry and academic leaders, headed off with they keynote speaker Dr. Nolan Zane, PhD, Professor of Psychology and Asian American Studies, University of California-Davis and the director of the Asian American Center on Disparities Research.

The wide variety of conference topics were attended by a variety of participants with backgrounds ranging from medicine to public health to industry. The conference was closed with a message from the newly elected APAMSA National President Ruey Hu, who emphasized the importance of speaking out and participation on every level of the organization.
